My name is Laurie Karski and I have been in the Medical Field for 25 years. My duties have included bathing clients, Taking and Recording Vital Signs, Recording Intakes and Outputs, Foley Care, Preparing Meals, Making Occupied and Unoccupied Beds, Knowledge and Experience with a Hoyer Lift, Assisting Nurses and following their instructions. In general, I've handled all the aspects related to the activities of daily living.
I've lived all my life in Michigan but we've recently moved to Arizona for a better climate. I enjoy what I do and the opportunity to meet new people. The emphasis today is on getting people out of the hospital and back into their homes as soon as possible. Sometimes the doctor will prescribe home visits on a daily or bi-weekly basis. I can provide the care necessary to get those patients back into the routines of normal living again.
My years of experience have included courses in high school, working in Nursing Homes and hospitals. Presently, I'm a Certified Hospice/ Home Aide. Even though I've been certified as a Nursing Assistant in the past, working with the home bound creates greater rewards for me.
